Crown Heights fire damages Chinese restaurant, home on Nostrand Avenue

BROOKLYN - Firefighters had a busy night in Crown Heights as flames tore through a Chinese food restaurant and spread to an apartment. 

The fire started at around 2 a.m., destroying the Golden Asian Restaurant on Nostrand Avenue before jumping up and causing substantial damage to an apartment on the second-floor of the same building. 

It took emergency crews several hours to get the flames under control and prevent them from spreading to any other neighboring homes. 
 
No injuries were reported, and the cause remains under investigation.
