Crown Heights Laundromat to be torn down after fire

BROOKLYN - Fire marshals and officials from the city's Department of Buildings say a popular Crown Heights Laundromat destroyed by flames yesterday must be torn down.

Officials say the Troy Avenue building is at risk of crumbling down at any time on its own, which could cause even more damage.

Investigators say they are still trying to determine the cause of the fire, but will know more once the building's walls are brought down.
