Crown Heights residents alarmed by airbag robberies

CROWN HEIGHTS - Some residents in Crown Heights say they are on high alert due to a series of unusual auto thefts in their neighborhood.

Police say they are investigating a series of airbag robberies in the area.

Bengy Stock says he's heard of at least 12 instances of victims finding their car windows smashed and their airbags gone.

Stock says he believes his neighborhood is being targeted because many of the robberies occurred on Friday nights and a lot of residents in the area observe the Sabbath.

Police are urging anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-8477.
