Residents complained that a hole surrounding the basin was slowly expanding.

BROOKLYN - A crumbling catch basin in Bath Beach has been repaired following a News 12 report. 

The Department of Environmental Protection sent crews to repair a large hole, which surrounded the basin at the busy corner of Bath and 16th avenues. 

Residents had reached out to News 12, saying their phone calls to 311 about the problem yielded no results. 

Neighbors say the hole was slowly expanding, and had already grown to about 2 feet wide and 4 feet deep before it was filled in.
