FORT GREENE - Families attended a song and dance event in Fort Greene Sunday afternoon as part of a celebration of Kwanzaa.

Organizers at the Cumbe Dance Center say the event was a great way to get people into the spirit of Kwanzaa, a holiday that celebrates African culture and history.

Kwanzaa lasts for seven nights and ends this Wednesday.
