NEW YORK - Thousands of cyclists took advantage of an opportunity to ride through the five boroughs Sunday for the annual TD 5 Boro Bike Tour.

About 32,000 cyclists from 65 countries participated in the event.

Cyclists of all ages, including children and people in their 80s, took part in the 40-mile trek around New York City.

The ride began in Manhattan and made its way through the Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn and Staten Island.

Proceeds from the tour go toward funding Bike New York's free bicycle education classes around the city.
