BUSHWICK - Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota says authorities have cut off two major heroin distribution rings with the arrests of 31 people Wednesday.

Spota says brothers Juan and Carlos Muniz, from Brooklyn, ran the operation out of their apartment under very specific rules. About two dozen people would pick up the drugs in Brooklyn on a regular basis and sell them in Suffolk, investigators say.

More than two dozen of those arrested in the bust are from Suffolk. According to Spota, the suspects were responsible for bringing about 1,000 bags of heroin into Suffolk every six weeks.
