BROOKLYN - A 30-year-old Brooklyn man pleaded guilty today to participating in a violent scheme to force Orthodox Jewish men into divorcing their wives.
Investigators say David Hellman was one of nearly a dozen people involved in a scheme to violently coerce Orthodox men into divorcing their wives.
Police say the group was arrested in October 2013.

Hellman is the first of the group to plead guilty. Authorities say he is scheduled to be sentenced on June 12 and could face 20 years in prison.
