BROOKLYN - A deal has been reached to keep cash-strapped Interfaith Medical Center open until the beginning of March.

Public Advocate-elect Letitia James tells News 12 that the state announced it will set aside $8 million to keep the hospital open until March 7.

The hospital filed for bankruptcy back in December, citing it was losing $3 million a month.

The hospital was slated to close Thursday.

Advocates are still calling for a permanent solution to keep the hospital afloat.
