Decomposing body found in Coney Island apartment

BROOKLYN - Residents in a Coney Island apartment complex say they are trying to get rid of an unbearably foul odor after a decomposing body was found inside one of the units.

According to tenants at the Sea Park Apartments, maggots and the stench led to the gruesome discovery yesterday. They say police officers removed the body this morning, but there is no word yet on a cause of death.

News 12 Brooklyn reached out to the building's management company to see what they're doing to help take care of the odor, but have not heard back.
