Deer rescued under Verrazano Bridge dies

BROOKLYN - One of two deer that were rescued after getting stranded under the Verrazano Bridge yesterday has died, officials say. Police aboard a boat were able to pull the two deer out of the water after they got stranded by a seawall. The male deer died by the time it reached a nearby shelter.
