THE BRONX - A rally was held in Manhattan Wednesday night to call attention to the plight of the transgender community.

The demonstrators gathered at City Hall to honor those who have lost their lives after being targeted in violent crimes during the third annual Day of Remembrance March.

Participants then marched across the Brooklyn Bridge for a candlelight vigil.

The event was organized by the Brooklyn Community Pride Center.
