Dept. of Sanitation hiring people to shovel snow

BROOKLYN - As the city continues to recover from Sunday's blizzard, some say the snow has brought a welcomed opportunity to make extra money.

The Department of Sanitation says it is hiring people to help shovel the city's side streets. It says it will pay $12 an hour and provide all of the gloves and shovels needed to clear the roadways.

To sign up, those interested should bring two passport-style photos and proper identification to the nearest Department of Sanitation garage.
