BROOKLYN - Hip hop mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs hosted a party in Bedford-Stuyvesant Tuesday night to celebrate the life and legacy of slain rapper Notorious B.I.G.

A large crowd gathered inside The Lab nightclub to honor the hip hop star who was gunned down March 9, 1997, while leaving a Los Angeles club.

"Biggie really was the voice for the people in the inner city, and he really highlighted a lot of issues that were important," says fan Ashley Sousa.

The rapper's fans say his music is still bringing different generations together years after his passing.

"His music is like it's brand new," says DJ Jabba, of Hot 97.
