BROOKYLN - The iconic film, "Do the Right Thing," marks its 25th anniversary.

Director and Brooklyn native Spike Lee was honored today by the borough president for the film, as well as its influence on the American Civil Rights movement.

Lee was presented with a proclamation that this Saturday will be "Do the Right Thing Day" in Brooklyn.

The director filmed the entire Academy-Award winning film in Bed-Stuy on Stuyvesant Avenue.

A free block party to honor the legacy of the movie will be held this Saturday on Stuyvesant Avenue.
