Dollar van controversy rears head in Marine Park

MARINE PARK - More than a year after being barricaded from part of Marine Park, the dollar van business returned, much to the chagrin of angry residents.Police barricaded popular streets used for dollar van shortcuts in the area of the Kings Plaza Shopping Mall after complaints by area residents. Residents say their quality of the life was constantly compromised by some of the passengers needing to use the service and the resulting traffic. After the barricades were lifted last week and requests for streets to be made into dead ends were denied, the controversy is back and bigger than ever.Residents say whether it's increased police patrols, security cameras or barricades, they will do anything to get the dollar vans out of their neighborhoods.
