DOT erects bus shelter where there is no stop

PARK SLOPE - The Department of Transportation has put up a bus shelter at a stop that no longer exists.

The shelter was installed at Prospect Park West and Union Street in the midst of bus cuts across the city. Included in those cuts were both the B71 line and the Prospect Park West portion of the B69, both of which would have stopped there.

Straphangers say they're confused as to why their tax money is being spent on non-essentials like this shelter at the same time they're losing services.
