DOT to build 2-way bike lane in Williamsburg

BROOKLYN - Cyclists in Williamsburg will soon have a safer two-way bike lane along Flushing Avenue.

The Department of Transportation is building the new lane between Kent Avenue and Navy Street with a median to separate bikers from traffic. That stretch of Flushing Avenue will also be converted to a one-way street in the westbound direction.

The DOT says the changes are scheduled to begin in July.
