DOT unveils Grand Army Plaza makoever plan

BROOKLYN - Officials say construction at the Grand Army Plaza is expected to make the traffic flow a little less clogged in the coming months.

Residents have complained that the congestion around the circle is frustrating and needs to be addressed.

Department of Transportation officials say that is why they have begun work on a new traffic configuration where Flatbush Avenue, Eastern Parkway and Prospect Park West converge.

Officials say they plan to install new traffic lights to help with congestion. Crews also say they plan to build pedestrian islands around the circle to make it safer to cross.
