BROOKLYN - Five people were injured in a fire that broke out in an East Flabush apartment building.

News 12 obtained viewer video of some good Samaritans jumping into action to help people before firefighters arrived at 1410 Brooklyn Ave. Wednesday morning.

Neighbors say that when they heard yelling and saw thick smoke coming from the building, they kicked in windows and grabbed everyone inside.

First responders say the five injured people were taken to Kings County Hospital Center and New York Methodist Hospital. They are all expected to be OK.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
