East New York teacher accused of inappropriately touching young girls

EAST NEW YORK - An East New York teacher is in hot water following accusations of inappropriate behavior in school.Gregory Michael Ides has been accused of inappropriately touching six girls at P.S. 345. Police say Ides touched, caressed and gave gifts to the young girls between the ages of 6 and 12 years old. Some teachers say they warned Ides that his behavior was not acceptable. However, investigators found that as many as four other teachers chose to keep their mouths shut instead of reporting the behavior. The accusations are causing concern among parents as to what else is going on behind school doors. However, the Department of Education released a statement saying, ?this behavior is unacceptable and we will initiate disciplinary proceedings seeking (Ides?) termination.?
