BROOKLYN - Police have charged the man suspected in a string of home invasions and sex assaults in Greenpoint and Williamsburg.

According to authorities, Edgar Marrero first attacked and raped a woman at her Berry Street apartment Monday night before running off with her iPod.

They say the 24-year-old then headed to Engert Street where he tried to rape another woman, but her husband chased him away.

Marrero then followed a third woman into her apartment on Nassau Avenue and allegedly tried to rape her too. Police say the victim’s roommate intervened, but Marrero got away with a laptop.

Charges against Marrero include rape, attempted rape, burglary, forcible touching and sexual abuse.
