EAST FLATBUSH - A man is dead after a fire swept through two apartments in an East Flatbush building early Sunday morning.

Firefighters arrived at 411 East 49th St. at around 4:10 Sunday morning after getting reports of a fire on the building's third floor. The fire was extinguished in less than an hour, but not before damaging the two apartments.

EMS transported four people to Kings County Hospital. One of the victims, 44-year-old Edzer Desir, was pronounced dead due to injuries sustained in the fire. The three other victims sustained minor injuries.

The fire remains under investgation, but officials say they do not suspect foul play.
