BROOKLYN - Gunfire erupted inside a Brownsville grocery store Monday, sending an employee to the hospital.

Police say the gunman fired shots at the Fine Fare Supermarket at 33 Truxton St., striking a 24-year-old worker in the leg. The suspect then fled the scene with an unspecified amount of money.

The victim was taken to Kings County Hospital and is expected to be OK.
