Employees subdue alleged gas station thief

EAST FLATBUSH - Police say a man who tried to rob an East Flatbush gas station was arrested after employees locked him inside.

Employees at the Utica Avenue gas station say the alleged thief tried to fill a bag with stolen merchandise before they approached him and locked him inside. The suspect then trashed the gas station's convenience store after being barricaded.

Police arrested the man and took him into custody.
