BROOKLYN - Although the MTA Board voted on several issues, the debate over student MetroCards is not over.

At a virtual town hall meeting Sunday night, state Sen. Pedro Espada Jr. proposed adding a $2 toll for four bridges that cross the East River in order to save the free student MetroCard program.

The Assembly then presented his budget proposal on Wednesday night, which included $35 million for student MetroCards. That number, however, would still leave the program short of the $214 million needed.
