BROOKLYN - Some ex-cons in Brooklyn are helping the borough go green with the help of a program run by the Horticultural Society of New York.

The ex-cons are part of a team that helps turn Brooklyn spaces into green spaces with plants, flowers and trees. It also prepares them to get a job in the ever expanding green market.

This year alone, the green team has worked on a half dozen Brooklyn gardens.
