NEW YORK - New York City mayoral candidate Joe Lhota sat down with News 12 for an exclusive one-on-one interview on Thursday.

Lhota spoke about the latest ruling on stop-and-frisk. If elected mayor, he says he will oversee the NYPD, and does not need somebody between him and the police commissioner.

Speaking about slum landlords, Lhota says parts of housing system is corrupt.

He says that his opponent, Public Advocate Bill de Blasio, puts out a list of the city's worst landlords, but 'fundraises' with them.

News 12 reached out to Democratic candidate Bill de Blasio for a one-on-one interview, but he did not respond to the invitation.

Polls show that de Blasio has a commanding lead in the race. Election Day is Nov. 5.

Lhota is a former Cablevision Employee. Cablevision is the parent company of News 12.
