Falling debris damages cars on Brooklyn Bridge

BROOKLYN - Officials say falling debris from ongoing construction on the Brooklyn Bridge damaged several cars and snarled traffic this afternoon. According to emergency responders, several pieces of debris fell and caused damage to about eight cars. Several car windows were shattered, leaving some investigators to theorize that bricks had tumbled down. Two people suffered minor injuries, officials say. The incident comes a day before the long holiday weekend, when the bridge will see a spike in traffic.
