Families, lawmakers fight to keep Bushwick day care center open

BUSHWICK - Families in Bushwick are fighting to save the Grand Street Day Care Center from closing its doors.

A spokesperson for the city's Administration for Children's Services says it can't afford to pay the rent increase on the building.

Lawmakers have joined parents of the 160 children that attend the day care to try to keep the building open.

A deal must be reached with the landlord by August or parents will need to find a new place to take care of their children.
