A Bedford-Stuyvesant family is mourning the death of a 45-year-old man who was gunned down on New Year's Day - the first Brooklyn murder victim

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT - A Bedford-Stuyvesant family is mourning the death of a 45-year-old man who was gunned down on New Year's Day - the first Brooklyn murder victim in 2012.

Andrew Brown was shot and killed on the sixth floor of an apartment building on Fulton Street. Brown's family says he was visiting a friend. "I couldn't believe it," says his sister. "I had just spoken to him."

Brown's sister says the family had been planning a trip south before tragedy hit. Police investigating 2 shootings in Brooklyn
