BROOKLYN - The family of a 16-year-old rape victim left unidentified in a Brooklyn morgue for more than a month is suing the city's medical examiner and police department.

The lawsuit charges that police did not search for Tiana Rice, of the Bronx, the day she went missing. Police allegedly classified Rice as a runaway, even though her mother says Rice called her in a frenzy before the call was cut off.

The family is suing for an undisclosed amount of money.
