Family of Brooklyn Bridge jumper demands answers

BROOKLYN - The family of a man who died after he jumped off the Brooklyn Bridge last month is demanding answers from police.

The family of Chukwudi Onyenwe says the NYPD isn't providing any details about the moments just before Onyenwe jumped on May 19.

Onyenwe's family says the 29-year-old was having mental problems and was running toward traffic on the Brooklyn Bridge when police subdued him. Family members say they want to know how Onyenwe was able to get away from police and jump without any officers stopping him.

Onyenwe's father says the NYPD won't give him a police report of the incident.

Funeral arrangements for Onyenwe are set for June 19.
