FLATBUSH - The family of the 13-year-old boy who was shot in the head last week in Flatbush is saying thank you to the community for all of their support.

Gama Droiville's family says they're very grateful for everyone who offered their thoughts and prayers as he recovers from a gunshot wound to the head. They added they're thankful for the NYPD and staff at Kings County Hospital for taking care of him. Droiville himself recorded a video over the weekend, saying he feels better.

Doctors say it's a miracle Droiville survived as the bullet narrowly missed his brain. The stray bullet struck him last Monday on Flatbush Avenue while he was out with his aunt and cousin. A 24-year-old man was also shot in the leg.
