BROOKLYN - A Brooklyn family is asking for more volunteers to help expand the search for their missing 20-year-old son with autism.

Brian Gerwitz was last seen since leaving his Marine Park home over two weeks ago.

There have recently been reports of sightings of him in Manhattan and Long Island, but he was not located.

His parents are extremely worried because he has high-functioning autism and diabetes, and needs medication.

The Guardian Angels and City Councilman Alan Maisel have joined the efforts.

The family says they would like to see more people step forward. They have set up a new command post at 2952 Ave. R.

A search team will assemble at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Anyone willing to help is welcome to join.
