BEDFORD-STUVESANT - The family of an 11-year-old girl who was shot by a stray bullet in Bedford-Stuyvesant is worrying about the cost of her rising medical bills.

Tayloni "Tutu" Mazyck was hit by a stray bullet in her neck earlier this month.

Mazyck's mom, Prisecilla Samuel, says she is not working and is concerned about the cost of the medical bills.

"I really don't have the means to pay for anything and seeing how this is the beginning stages of it ... it's going to get worse as it goes down the line if we move her upstate to Westchester," Samuel says.

Samuel says she understands that her daughter's recovery will be long, but has faith that she will make a full recovery.
