Family of woman killed by forklift devastated

SHEEPSHEAD BAY - The family of a 46-year-old Brooklyn woman who was killed by a forklift says they plan to hold the construction company accountable for her death.

Rosemary Pratt was run over and crushed by a forklift on 14th Street between Avenue M and Elm Avenue on Tuesday morning. Pratt's brother-in-law, who used to work in construction, says there is no reason a vehicle of that size should be in the road.

According to reports, the forklift operator was traveling to repair an overpass when the accident occurred.

Pratt was transported to Kings County Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
