Family of woman shot by cop asks for grand jury investigation

BROOKLYN - Family members of the woman who was shot and killed by a police officer in June are now calling for a grand jury investigation.Shantel Davis, 23, was fatally shot by Detective Phil Atkins when his gun went off as the two were struggling. Police say that just before the incident, Davis had crashed a stolen car into a minivan in East Flatbush.Davis' family members say they want criminal charges filed against Atkins and have asked the district attorney's office for a grand jury investigation.Residents demand answers after police shoot unarmed woman
