FLATBUSH - Friday is National Comic Book Day.

Fans say that even though the Internet and smartphones have revolutionized the way people read books and newspapers, a true comic book lover wants nothing more than physically having a comic book in hand.

Collectors and fans at Bullet Proof Comics in Flatbush turned out to celebrate.

Fans also have the upcoming Comic Con to look forward to on Oct. 8 through 11. That event is already sold out.
