BROOKLYN - The FDNY is sounding the alarm on a scam targeting new recruits.

A spokesperson for the department says someone called new applicants asking for personal information, including a Social Security number.

Fire officials did not specify how many people were called, but did say this is a very recent incident and that job seekers should not give out their personal information to anyone.
