FEMA approves disaster aid for Brooklyn

BROOKLYN - The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has approved federal disaster aid for Brooklyn residents in the wake of Tropical Storm Irene.

FEMA did not initially add Kings County to the list of areas eligible for federal aid.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-N.Y.) thanked FEMA today for assessing the damages and needs of New Yorkers so quickly.
