BROOKLYN - Federal Emergency Management Agency officials told News 12 that Brooklyn was not excluded from relief funds following Hurricane Irene.

The storm swept through Brooklyn, leaving many trees knocked down and neighborhoods flooded. Cars, homes and other infrastructure were damaged as well.

According to FEMA officials, federal teams are still out assessing damage, which could mean Brooklyn may still be eligible for relief funds in the near future.
