FEMA reps meet Sandy victims in Canarsie

BROOKLYN - Canarsie residents hit hard by Superstorm Sandy received some one-on-one attention from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

Councilman Lew Fidler (D-Brooklyn) arranged a meeting Tuesday night with FEMA representatives and victims. The goal was to address neighborhood concerns about getting help and provide information about a variety of services that are available to them.

Some frustrated Canarsie residents had gathered on Sunday, claiming that FEMA officials have denied them relief efforts.
