BROOKLYN - Officials are trying to determine what sparked a fire inside an apartment in Flatbush. 

According to the FDNY, it started Thursday morning on the third floor of a building on Newkirk Avenue, near Ocean Avenue.  

The flames spread to the fourth floor, but firefighters were able to get it under control quickly. 

No injuries were reported.
