Fire breaks out in Park Slope building

PARK SLOPE - Classes and church services are suspended after a fire broke out in a Park Slope building yesterday evening.

The fire chief says an electrical fire broke out in the basement of a building that holds the New York City Church of Christ and Faith Tabernacle. It also holds the Brooklyn Free Space Pre-K.

The fire was contained to one room during parent-teacher conferences and while some parishioners were praying.

Classes and church services were suspended for today but classes are expected to start tomorrow and services this weekend.
