BROOKLYN - A fire damaged a grocery store in Coney Island early Sunday morning.

The flames sparked in the kitchen of a Brighton Beach Avenue grocery store just before 8 a.m. as a worker was opening the store.

Officials have not yet determined the cause of the fire.

The store owner told News 12 that the store was badly damaged, but no one was hurt.
