Fire damages store, 2 apartments on 18th Avenue in Borough Park

A raging fire severely damaged a store and two apartments yesterday in Borough Park. Investigators tell News 12 that the flames started around 11:30 a.m.

BROOKLYN - A raging fire severely damaged a store and two apartments yesterday in Borough Park.

Investigators tell News 12 that the flames started around 11:30 a.m. in the second-floor hallway of 4315 18th Ave. and quickly spread throughout the building.

Several people had to be rescued by firefighters, and seven suffered minor injuries.

Officials say the fire appears to be suspicious.

The Red Cross is offering help to those who have been displaced by the fire.
