Fire forces Kensington church evacuation

Members of a Kensington church say they were forced to evacuate today after a kitchen fire.Congregants say they were one hour into their regular service

KENSINGTON - Members of a Kensington church say they were forced to evacuate today after a kitchen fire.

Congregants say they were one hour into their regular service when someone notified them of the blaze. The FDNY was called in immediately to fight the fire and turned off electricity to the church.

Members say the church also suffered some water damage.
