Flames ripped through a multifamily home in Cypress Hills last night, displacing several families that lived there.

BROOKLYN - Flames ripped through a multifamily home in Cypress Hills last night, leaving its inhabitants and neighbors severely shaken.

EMS officials say the fire broke out shortly before 11 p.m. on Warwick Street near Arlington Avenue. The flames erupted on the buiding's third floor.

Authorities say all of the residents escaped in time and no one was injured. However, the building has been deemed inhabitable.

Neighbors say the building is home to several children.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
