BENSONHURST - Firefighters battled a residential fire in Bensonhurst Friday morning.

Investigators say the fire sparked in the basement of a home in Rockaway Parkway.

Firefighters say they were called to the scene at around 10 a.m. and managed to contain the fire in about half an hour.

Investigators say one firefighter went to the hospital with minor injuries.

There is no word on whether anyone else was injured in the fire.
